Overview
This guide provides information about migrating an on-premises deployment to the Cisco UCM Cloud using the Yarnlab Wrangler UCMC Tool. During a migration, Cisco deploys the Unified CM cluster, then an administrator at the partner configures it, replicating the on-premises source cluster/s and register the end-user devices to the UCM cloud post migration.
The Wrangler UCMC tool supports migration of CUCM and if required, the associated Unity Connection, version 10.5 and later (currently latest supported is 14.X)
Additionally, it supports single and multiple CUCM clusters into a single UCMC cluster.
The CUCM cluster Dialplan can be migrated using one of the following methods
Clone
Map
Template
The Clone option will clone the existing dial plan to the target CUCM cluster as is (this option is not supported for Multi Cluster migration).
The Map option requires that a dialplan is manually configured on the target cluster prior to migration, existing dialplan objects then have to be mapped to the target dial plan objects.
In the Template option, Wrangler will deploy either a standardised CUCDM type dial plan or a standard Simplified Dial Plan to the target cluster, existing dial plan objects then have to be mapped to the target dial plan objects.
Migration Process
The migration process goes through a number of steps as per below pictures
Prerequisites
Recommendations for using the Wrangler UCMC Tool
Hardware requirements :
Hardware | Specification |
Virtual Machines | 4 vCPU 8 GB vRAM 1 x 100 GB vDisk |
Virtualization software | VMware vSphere ESXi 6 or higher |
VMware Workstation support | 12 or higher |
Software Requirements: Yarnman OVA for initial installation and Yarnman installed. The process to install Yarnman is described in Yarnman Setup Guide under interfaces chapter Yarnman Installation and Setup
The following configuration needs to be setup before using Wrangler UCMC
LDAP configuration
MOH files
Announcements
CUCM Native dial plans (COP Load)
Locale (COP Load)
TFTP files (backgrounds/ringtones)
Device Packs (target firmware)
Clusterwide Service parameters (comparison report is available)
Enterprise parameters (comparison report is available)
SNMP/SYSLOG/CDR
Minimum Mapped Objects (need to be configured on target system)
MRGL (MRG)
CMG
Data Extraction
Configuration is extracted from the source and target clusters and imported into Migration Assistant including all lines, devices, users and dial plan
Configuration can be periodically rediscovered if required for phased migrations
